We are actively looking for a talented Screen Printer who has excellent attention to detail and is committed to producing high quality printed glassware. As a lead Screen Printer, you will be responsible for mixing the correct ink colors to color specifications using Pantone color scheme, making screens and setting up printer, producing the final printed articles, and cleaning the machinery and screens after each batch. You will also be required to prepare the final printed articles for shipping and to assist with the shipping process.
To succeed you need to place a high emphasis on producing quality work, be able to stand for long hours, be comfortable with manual labor and have excellent hand-eye coordination. Suitable Screen Printers can create beautifully designed articles that fully meet the customer’s specifications.
Screen Printer Responsibilities:
- Receiving work order jobs for Screen Printing
- Examining work orders to determine estimated printing times, ink, and material quantities
- Managing production scheduling and planning and communicating with company management to optimize efficiency
- Stretching screens, applying emulsion, and exposing images onto screen as well as cleaning/prepping screens
- Installing and repositioning screen-printing plates and pressure roles
- Calibrating printer before batch is printed
- Running prints and performing quality checks throughout the printing process
- Troubleshooting problems as they arise
- Maintain standard of quality control
- Assist with packing when needed
The strongest candidates will have:
- Several years’ experience working as a Screen Printer
- Several years' management experience
- Machine operator experience
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work with ink and chemicals every day
- Semi-Automatic screen press knowledge
- Automatic pad press knowledge
- Troubleshooting on machinery
- Large volume production tolerance
Additional role details:
- You may need to stand for up to 8 hours. There are two, 15-minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch break. Work may be repetitive at times.
- In general, work hours are from Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00PM. Work hours may fluctuate. Occasional Saturday work may be required.
- Pay begins at approximately $16 to $20 per hour, with many opportunities for advancement
