Job Title: Land Agent - Solar Lease Negotiations

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Land Agent with expertise in solar energy projects. As a Land Agent, you will be responsible for negotiating and securing solar leases with landowners. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry. Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential landowners and properties suitable for solar energy projects.
  • Conduct thorough research and due diligence on targeted properties, including ownership, zoning regulations, and environmental considerations.
  • Initiate contact and establish relationships with landowners to discuss lease opportunities for solar projects.
  • Negotiate lease terms, including land use agreements, easements, rental rates, and royalties, ensuring favorable conditions for the company.
  • Collaborate with legal and environmental teams to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to assess project feasibility and viability based on land availability, access to transmission lines, and other factors.
  • Manage lease documentation, including drafting, reviewing, and finalizing lease agreements and related contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to lease negotiations, property details, and project updates.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and policy changes that may impact solar lease negotiations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as real estate, environmental studies, or renewable energy preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in land acquisition, real estate negotiations, or lease management, with a focus on solar projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the solar energy industry, including familiarity with industry regulations, incentive programs, and market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating land leases and securing agreements with landowners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with landowners, legal professionals, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in contract review and drafting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in using technology tools and software for data analysis, document management, and communication.
