As a Medical Assistant at our practice, you will join a dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, attentive, with strong communication and patient care skills with a commitment to providing the highest quality health care.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepares the patient for exams by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the provider.
2. Assists providers with minor in-office procedures by handing instruments and materials as directed. Prepares treatment room with appropriate instruments and materials for procedure.
3. Collecting laboratory specimens, performing injections and will act as chaperon as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
4. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, prior-authorizations, FMLA forms, Disability paperwork, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic.
5. Answers telephone in an appropriate and professional manner, takes accurate messages and promptly relays messages to appropriate individuals. Ensure incoming messages are followed up and resolved. Coordinate with other office staff. Perform callbacks under physician direction.
6. Cleans and restocks exam room.
7. Performs all other duties and tasks requested to ensure efficiency and overall performance of the practice.
8. Ability to Multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment dealing with medically complex patients.
9. Establishes priorities, assess workload and determine order of importance on a daily basis with minimal guidance.
10. Provides compassionate and empathetic care understanding that our patients health and well-being is our number one priority.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
