S3, Inc. is seeking a Contracts Clerk I to join the corporate Contracts team at our Cummings Research Park Headquarters in Huntsville, AL.

Military experience is a plus. This is not a teleworking position.

Job Description:

Contracts Clerk I works under close supervision following detailed procedures to complete repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as coordinating and filing contract, or subcontracts, or other contract related documents. Tasks performed may involve basic data entry, collecting, tracking, and analyzing contracts related data, operating basic office equipment, e.g. Desktop Computer, photocopier, multi-line phone system, and basic office software.  Little or no subject matter (functional department) knowledge is required.  The Contracts Clerk performs other clerical duties as assigned and may require performance beyond normal business hours.

Duties:

  • Maintain and update filing, inventorying, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
  • Liaise with internal departments such as Contracts and Finance and Accounting to coordinate contract-related activities.
  • May communicate with internal or external parties, including vendors, suppliers, and customers, to obtain or share contracts related data.
  • Review and update existing contracts.
  • Complete and mail bills, contracts, policies, invoices, or checks.
  • Compile, copy, sort, organize, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other contract activities.
  • Process and prepare contracts related documents, such as business or government forms and expense reports.
  • Compute, record, develop, and proofread contract data and other contract related information, such as records or reports.
  • Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests or develop reports.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, and record and transcribe minutes.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or a High School Diploma and four years of related experience.
  • At least two years of experience performing clerical duties in a federal contracting industry environment or for the government. 
  • Experience with Costpoint or SharePoint is a plus.
