COSMIC Developer, Cloud Services

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a backend server and API for COSMIC DE cloud services.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems and services.
• Develop local network and cloud sync services in COSMIC DE.
• Develop COSMIC features.
• Collaborate closely with other teams to align backend solutions with product goals.
• Maintain Recognizer authentication system and its integrations (Written in Elixir).
• Maintain databases (mysql, postgres) and API servers (Written in Elixir).
• Investigate and address any identified security issues in the systems.

Requirements

• Technical Skills
• Strong proficiency in Rust.
• Experience developing and integrating APIs.
• Deep understanding of AWS configuration, scaling, and billing
• Strong understanding of database management and maintenance.
• An understanding of Desktop Linux file system, user directories, and permissions.
• Bonus: Experience with Elixir or an interest to learn.
• Soft Skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a local and remote team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to document and share knowledge effectively.
• Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development and AWS infrastructure management.
  • Experience developing cloud authentication and throttling techniques.
  • Experience investigating and resolving security issues is a plus.
