Job Description
- The Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine Group at Company Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA is seeking a highly motivated scientist for rAAV analytical characterization for gene therapy in a newly established rAAV Research and Production team.
- The candidate will work collaboratively with our therapeutic area teams to advance Company’s rAAV pipeline.
- The ideal candidate will have biotechnology experience in rAAV Process and Analytical Development.
- He/she will be responsible for assisting with the development and execution of analytical methods to support preclinical studies.
- This position requires a versatile individual, who can work in development and analytical activities to advance pipeline.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the development and application of molecular and cell-based assays (e.g., ELISA, SDS-PAGE, WB, WES, Endotoxin assay)
- Maintain and culture cells or assist in AAV production as needed
- Analyze experimental data, generating plots and summarizing results and conclusions
- Maintain a comprehensive Electronic Lab Notebook documenting experiments
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the team with clear daily, detailed, and accurate documentation of experiments
- Collaborate with team members to meet project goals, and advance novel vectors into pipeline
- Author technical reports and protocols
- Understand and enforce company culture, teamwork, safety, appropriate handling of materials in an BSL2 environment
- Perform all activities in compliance with applicable regulations, Company’s policies and guidelines
- Bring a "can do" spirit to work and deliver on other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Basic:
- Bachelor's with 2-3 years of experience or Master's in Biology or related discipline
- Experience in molecular assay development and optimization (e.g., ddPCR, WB, WES, SDS-PAGE)
- Experience in rAAV production using mammalian cell platforms
- Experience in cell culture work (e.g., maintenance, transfection, transduction)
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment
- Successful track record of working in high-growth and dynamic organizations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Evidence of "hands-on" experience and expertise
- Organized and detail oriented with a passion to deliver quality results
