T&B Tube is currently accepting applications for future openings at our plant located in the Miller area of Gary, IN. Must have availability for 1st and 2nd Shifts (5AM-3PM / 2:30PM-12:30AM). We are looking for individuals who have the skill set to become an Assistant Operator or Operator, and who are safety conscious, have mechanical experience, are extremely detailed and insist on meeting high quality standards in the finished product. Candidates who have experience adjusting machine settings, mechanical troubleshooting, and thrive in a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.  A typical schedule is 4 10-hour shifts, with possible overtime to meet heavy order demands.

T&B Tube specializes in manufacturing cut to length steel tube for a variety of applications and customers that include point of purchase displays, outdoor products, tube fabricators, and various other OEM's. Our four tube mills, four high speed recut machines, and precision tube lasers enable us to deliver steel tubes quickly and reliably. We have been a family owned and operated company for more than 40 years. As a team member of T&B Tube Company, you will be required to wear prescribed safety equipment and always keep the work area free of debris. You will also be trained and certified in driving a Forklift and operating Overhead Cranes, which are used to move tubing throughout our plant.

Qualifications

Training Required:

• ISO 9001 Overview and Quality Training required to perform job duties
• Epicore Computer system for correct processing of shop orders, use of WIP   material, and creation of production tags
• Measuring devices i.e., tape measures, micrometers, radius gauges, plug gauges, ring gauges, feeler gauges.
• Forklift and overhead certification
• Safety Training (PPE, company safety policy / safety rules, Hazard Communication, Emergency Evacuation, Lockout Tagout, forklift safety)
• Packaging Techniques
• Changeover Techniques
• Other as described in Training Checklist for Tube Mill Operators

Education and/or equivalent experience required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Forklift operation
• Minimum 3-6 months factory/warehouse work setting
• Basic Computer Skills
• Basic Math Skills (including fractions and decimal conversions)
• Basic maintenance work
• Basic Mechanic Skills (Automotive Repair)
• Basic Machinery Experience-3-6 months
• Minimum 1-year experience in grocery store stock, warehouse environment, industrial environment.
• Minimum 1-year experience or more with overhead cranes, forklift, scanners
