Tube Laser Operator /Material Handler

T&B Tube is currently looking to fill the role of Laser Operator and Material Handler in our Miller Beach/Gary, IN location.

Currently, we have an opening on 3rd Shift (7PM-5AM) Monday-Thursday for both positions above. Overtime can be scheduled per business needs. As a laser machine operator, you must have experience assisting with the setup, and light maintenance of the machine. CNC experience is a plus due to it relates to the Laser machines. Must have strong knowledge of mechanical experience and ability to perform simple machine adjustments. Responsibility in this role requires loading programs, calculating machine specs and parameters. Also, you will also be required to load materials onto the machine and secure them properly, monitor the machine's operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality. Must have experience with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine settings and adjustments. You can expect to be cross trained on multiple styles of cutting machines.  

Material Handler is required to package steel tubing and verify piece counts. Works with Machine Operator to ensure all finished bundles are properly tagged and correct material is being used. Operate forklift and Overhead Crane to move packaged material to designated storage or staging area. Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

T&B Tube specializes in manufacturing cut to length steel tube for a variety of applications and customers that include point of purchase displays, outdoor products, tube fabricators, and various other OEM's. Our four tube mills, four high speed recut machines, and precision tube lasers enable us to deliver steel tubes quickly and reliably. As a team member of T&B Tube Company, you will be required to wear prescribed safety equipment and always keep the work area free of debris. Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows based PC)
• General understanding of manufacturing processes
• Previous operator experience on Bewo is preferred but not required
• Previous CNC experience is preferred but not required
• Availability to attend multiple 5-day classes in Michigan (Laser Operator only)
• Able to read and converse in English
• Basic Mechanic Skills (Automotive Repair)

Training Required for Laser Operator:

• Epicore Computer system for correct processing of shop orders, use of WIP   material, and creation of production tags
• ISO 9001 overview – Quality Policy
• Measuring devices such as tape measures, length measuring devices, micrometers, Faro measurement systems, and feeler gauges
• Laser Operating, set-up, and troubleshooting techniques
• Forklift and overhead crane certifications
• Safety Policy and Company Rules
• BLM Operator Certification Training

Training Required for Material Handler:

• Forklift and overhead crane certification
• ISO 9001 Overview
• In Process Inspections (Surface, length, packaging)
• Measuring devices (Tape measures, length measuring devices)
• Company Safety Rules
• Packaging techniques
• Safe Banding and Material stacking practices
