Procurement Associate Job Description
A Procurement Associate is a driven, detailed and team-oriented person in charge of producing accurate purchase orders for specialty products. This role will take a collaborative approach with multiple departments to complete and process purchase orders for all required non-stock items required from our customer service team.
Wage Range: $20-$25 hr.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Procurement Associate Duties:
1. Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
2. Ensure a continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
3. Develop positive relationships with suppliers.
4. Handle requests for purchases ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
5. Compare prices, lead time and quality to determine the best bid for a requested product.
6. Respond to questions or concerns about products or parts.
7. Notify appropriate departments of placement of order.
8. Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
9. Compile records of all purchased items or transferred items between departments or facilities.
10. Match all purchases with received shipments.
11. Coordinate any special delivery requirements with the logistics department.
12. Ensure Purchase Order due dates within MRP are accurate.
13. Maintain vendor and supplier records.
14. Monitor market trends and market suppliers.
15. Ability to understand metrics and formulas that lead you to the best purchase decision possible.
16. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Procurement Associate may be required to perform
other duties as assigned or necessary to support the team or organization.
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Microsoft Excel Skills.
- Looking for a minimum of 2 years' work experience within Purchasing, Material Planning, and/or Demand Planning.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented a must.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Teams experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
