TACOMA ARTS LIVE is Hiring a Program Coordinator Near Tacoma, WA

Description

Program Coordinator (Temporary, Part-time, Hybrid)

The Program Coordinator is a Temporary position. This position will work 20 hours per week, from date of hire in February through May 31, 2023. The position is grant funded, and may be extended if additional funding is obtained. This is a non-exempt position, meaning that you are eligible for overtime if you work more than 40 hours in a work week. While some of the work may be done remotely, at least 50% will be onsite at the Tacoma Armory, and will vary based on scheduled trainings and program needs.

Rate is $20 - 23/hour.

Benefits
Eligible for WA Sick Leave accrual. There are no insurance or vacation benefits offered for this temporary position.

Tacoma Arts Live is a 501(c)(3) non-profit 42 year-old arts organization that is committed to producing the highest quality programs and to the belief that our ability to contribute to excellence in the arts depends on building a community whose members come from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences. 

We are located in downtown Tacoma in the historic Tacoma Armory. Programs at Tacoma Arts Live include public presentations, including concerts, theater, comedy, dance, immersive exhibits, film, lectures, family shows and other live events performed by touring and community organizations. Additionally, an ambitious education portfolio serves tens of thousands of students each year, both in and out of school. Headquartered at the historic Tacoma Armory in the Hilltop, the organization maintains a strong commitment to access and utilizes the arts to energize community.

Position: Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator is responsible for participating in the startup and ongoing care of our new Accelerating Creative Enterprise (ACE) small business incubator. This position will support participants in the ACE program and the Director of Community Engagement. The ACE incubator will occupy two office suites in the Tacoma Armory. Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and cohost professional development classes for ACE participants and trainers; regularly communicate schedule to participants. 
  • Organize and maintain shared ACE office spaces, including supply area, front lobby, and kitchen.
  • Administer online calendar for booking of shared office space.
  • Schedule and communicate all ACE events.
  • Provide first line assistance for ACE participants for facilities and IT issues.
  • Prepare agendas for meetings and make necessary arrangements, such as coordinating catering for luncheons and other meetings. 
  • Track and communicate participant data to assist in program evaluation and reporting
  • Respond to external e-mail, correspondence, and phone requests in a timely manner.
  • Track budget for supplies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience providing administrative support preferred
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including managing files and records and other office procedures at a proficient level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and serve clientele diverse in gender, race/ethnicity, age and economics.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some nights and weekends to support onsite training.
