Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership in launching and overseeing Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and creative arts therapists.
- Supervise and collaborate with two board-certified inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry attendings.
- Deliver direct patient care for a census of approximately 5-6 patients.
- Foster a culture of professional growth, well-being, and clinical excellence.
- Partner with training program directors to ensure a high-quality learning environment for residents and fellows.
- Collaborate with the Director of Quality Improvement to advance safety and quality initiatives.
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts to build a diverse and outstanding clinical team.
- Champion health equity, patient-centered care, and a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Leadership: Extensive administrative and leadership experience in acute pediatric psychiatry, ideally within multidisciplinary inpatient, intensive outpatient, or emergency psychiatry settings. Experience in faculty and staff recruitment is highly valued.
- Academic Excellence: A distinguished record of personal achievement in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, demonstrating contributions to research, education, and clinical innovation.
- Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with a strong track record of direct patient care, teaching, and clinical supervision.
- Mentorship & Medical Education: A commitment to medical education and mentorship, particularly in guiding trainees and early-career faculty toward professional and academic success.
- Medical Credentials: M.D. degree with board certification in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Must be licensed or eligible for medical licensure in New York.
