What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Technician position at Talascend LLC?
Shifts Available:
- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
- Tuesday–Friday: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled/preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend necessary actions for safety and reliability.
- Document repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting and testing completed work.
- Maintain inventory of tools and assist with parts inventory organization.
- Operate workshop equipment safely and follow client safety standards (e.g., PPE usage).
- Stay compliant with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, hazardous waste disposal).
- Configure, set up, diagnose, and sign off vehicles for on-road use.
- Occasionally travel locally for job assignments.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair methods, tools, and materials.
- 5 years of technician experience.
- Diagnostic troubleshooting experience, preferably with OEM systems and hybrid/HV drivetrains (e.g., CAN/LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, suspension).
- Preferred experience in Linux-based systems and embedded module diagnostics, including self-driving systems and sensor stacks.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance optimization and OEM maintenance items is a plus.
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair is preferred; ASE/manufacturer certifications are strongly desired. Clean driving record and ability to travel locally/nationally as needed.
