Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Assist in the design of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for produce processing and packaging equipment, ensuring functionality, durability, and efficiency.
- CAD Modeling & Drafting: Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing.
- Collaboration: Work alongside senior engineers and project teams to solve design and engineering challenges and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
- Product Lifecycle Support: Participate in the full product lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, and post-production support, ensuring products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues with existing equipment, developing solutions, and supporting the troubleshooting and repair processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements for existing equipment and processes to enhance productivity, safety, and reliability.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design calculations, project reports, and manuals.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that designs and manufactured equipment meet all relevant safety and regulatory standards specific to food processing equipment and machinery.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the manufacturing or produce processing industry.
- Skills:
- Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) as well as Microsoft Office
- Proficient in mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- High level of understanding of materials, mechanical systems, and machine design.
- Knowledge of production equipment and automation in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
