JOB SUMMARY
Provides general reference and reader's advisory services at the information desk and assists customers with the use of library technology resources. Performs a wide range of circulation functions and clerical support tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of direct customer service experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Education may not be substituted for one (1) year of required customer service experience.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides general reference and reader’s advisory services, in-person or via telephone.
- Provides clerical support for librarian collection development activities.
- Performs a wide range of circulation functions and assigned general library support tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed primarily in an indoor environment, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions when emptying book drops. Considerable standing, walking, and sitting. Requires ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, lift up to 30 pounds, and push / pull a loaded shelving cart weighing up to 150 pounds.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION
Work schedule may include evenings and Saturdays. Occasional travel to a variety of locations to perform work and / or attend meetings is required.
