Equipment Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to safely and effectively operate various types of heavy machinery, including trucks, excavators, horizontal directional drills, vibratory plows, and other equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in underground utility construction, with proven experience operating an excavator and the mechanical aptitude to learn and operate directional drills, plows, or locating systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize risks of injury, property damage, or accidents.
• Perform daily safety inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Clean and maintain equipment according to schedules and requirements.
• Securely store equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to supervisors promptly.
• Participate in routine maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
• Interact courteously and respectfully with residents and the public.
• Adhere to all workplace safety practices and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License (CDL Class A is a plus).
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate.
• Commitment to following all company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

• Work in environments near active traffic.
• Work 8 hours per day, 5 days a week (overtime and weekend work may be required).
• Perform tasks in direct sunlight for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• Bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
