What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Operations Technician position at Targa Resources?
- Adhere to all Targa HSE requirements, with safety and environmental being at the forefront of all operations
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation (MAXIMO)
- Starting and stopping of all station equipment
- Maximize field compression efficiently
- Dehydration operations and maintenance
- Ability to calculate pump rates
- Understanding of flow and temps
- Understanding of BTEX units
- Assist pigging operations as needed along with proper documentation and procedures
- Perform minor repairs and assist with major repairs on compression and related equipment
- Perform valve inspections and maintenance as needed
- Manage inventory at assigned sites
- Glycol
- Methanol
- NGL’s
- Produced Water
- Assist other departments as needed
- Basic understanding of PLC’s and their functions
- Demonstrate good housekeeping
- Station site
- All buildings
- Clean trucks and serviced at proper intervals
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company
- Minimum of 2 year(s) of related work experience
- Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all teams, personnel, and vendors
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision
- Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others
- Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks
- Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience with gas fired engines and reciprocating compressors
- Knowledge of glycol dehydration systems
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions
- Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex)
- Regular and reliable attendance
