Tarkett has a great opportunity for an Extrusion Shift Leader at Tarkett Hospitality.
We are looking for an Extrusion Shift Leader to join our talented team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations for assigned shift to ensure smooth and efficient yarn extrusion manufacturing operations. They will be responsible for promoting a team environment and continuously improving all production methods while adhering to all safety procedures. They will be responsible for the training and development of hourly employees, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting, and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. This position will be based in our Tarkett Hospitality location in Dalton GA and will report to the Extrusion Manager.
Your skills we value :
- Supervises / leads the yarn extrusion manufacturing functions across assigned shift, which includes reviewing production orders or schedules to ensure the manufacturing of the product is completed and scheduled delivery dates are met.
- Plans and reviews production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing yarn products.
- Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays.
- Schedules and assigns work to meet yarn production requirements.
- Evaluates, develops, and ensures appropriate training processes are completed.
- Coaches and develops employees in problem-solving, scheduling, equipment problems, training, etc.
- Actively monitor, evaluate, and report performance daily using the Shop Floor Management Tools in WCM. Take full ownership of shift and performance reporting management for Extrusion.
- Utilize lean manufacturing methods to improve production processes including quality, cost reduction, and reduced lead times for yarn processing.
- Will be responsible for leading any initiatives for Extrusion related to 5S implementation and process improvements on assigned shift.
- Works with the safety committee by attending safety meetings, working on safety projects, supporting safety within their department(s), completing safety surveys, and performing safety training.
- Supports employees in quality assurance. This includes ensuring quality requirements and procedures for the department and plant are understood and met within all departments this position supervises.
- Resolves employee relation issues in partnership with Extrusion Department Manager through effective remediation techniques.
- Involved in the hiring process for hourly employees. Responsible for partnering with Extrusion Department Manager for employee counseling and disciplinary actions, including recommendations for termination.
- Maintains shift reports and records.
- Any additional tasks assigned by leader.
