- Receives and opens incoming products and materials
- Delivers firearms to appropriate areas
- Prepares products for shipment to include assembling cartons, boxes, and all packaging; wraps protective material around products; inserts products into containers; and fills containers with protective material
- Weighs and/or counts containers and adjusts quantity accordingly
- Tapes, straps, nails, glues, closes, and seals containers
- Labels containers, inventory items, and/or stocks products
- Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process
- Records information on needed documents to include count, weight, time, and date items were pulled and packaged
- Reads and documents serial and model numbers, bar codes, bill of ladings, etc.
- Enters product information and customer complaints in computer system
- Prints labels and confirmation letters
- Performs product inventory control in an efficient manner; maintains inventory area
- Operates forklift and other warehouse devices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes used to maximize the efficient and effective distribution of goods
· Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
· Ability to quickly learn the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of firearms
· Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
