Position Overview:
We are looking for an Entry-Level Aircraft Upholstery Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in upholstery and carpet trades, or those eager to develop their skills. As an Aircraft Upholstery Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing upholstery, covering panels, and creating simple patterns for aircraft interiors according to design, customer, and FAA specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the craftsmanship of high-quality aircraft interiors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upholstery Fabrication & Installation:
Perform technical upholstery functions, including covering panels, windows, cabin headliners, sidewalls, hatch panels, and more, in compliance with work order instructions and aircraft specifications.
- Carpet Installation:
Create carpet patterns based on design drawings and complete installation within aircraft interiors.
- Parts Fabrication:
Assist with the fabrication of various metal parts as needed, following design and engineering specifications.
- Material Tracking & Documentation:
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off on completed work.
- General Upholstery Tasks:
Fit panels and windows, cover bulkheads, and complete other upholstery tasks to specifications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience:
Previous experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades is preferred.
- Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Basic math skills and proficiency with measuring tools.
- Computer literate and able to use work-related software systems.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined or small spaces, climb ladders, and stairs.
- Ability to work any shift.
- Language:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.

This position will be performed under moderate supervision.
