Job Title: Data Warehouse Developer
Location: REMOTE
Required:
Experience in multi-system data integration
Experience with data integration through extract, transform, load (ETL) & ELT patterns
Experience with data modeling and relational database design
Experience with data warehouse development, maintenance, and auditing/logging
Preferred:
Experience with enterprise data integration tools (e.g., Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) Data Integration, Informatica PowerCenter, dbt), preferably IICS Data Integration
Experience with structured and unstructured data
Experience with cloud data storage (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)
Experience with data virtualization platform (e.g., Denodo)
Clear & effective written and verbal communication
Job Summary:
The Data Warehouse Developer will assist in the initial setup, configuration and modeling of a new data warehouse in Redshift or Snowflake for the School of Medicine and Public Health. The person in this role will work closely with our data warehouse team, BI developers, software engineers and external partners to build our new academic and administrative data warehouse (AADW) as part of the UW-Madison transition to Workday in July 2025.
The Data Warehouse Developer will report to the Director for Data Analytics.
Responsibilities:
50% Perform data warehouse design and testing, including data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation
30% Design, develop, and maintain relational databases for data storage and data mining.
15% Assist internal database team with initial data transfers into new warehouse.
5% Seek continuous improvement in performance of data warehouse and ensure security of data.
Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
