Assistant Coach
Job Description :
Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition, motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport, and supporting the Head Varsity Coach with all assigned duties.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
In-depth knowledge and experience in sport.
Previous coaching experience in sport preferred.
Ability to obtain a valid CPR / First Aid card.
Duties :
Receives clearance from Athletic Department / district office before interacting with student athletes.
Assesses players' skills and assigns team positions.
Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal of Athletics, Head Varsity Coach or other appropriate administrator.
