Job Title: Floater Teacher - Infant and Toddler Classrooms

Location: Tender Learning Centre, Wilmington

Position Type: Full-Time, Four 10 hour days.

About Us: Tender Learning Centre is a privately owned daycare dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for infants to school aged children. We believe in fostering a love for learning through play and exploration, ensuring that every child feels valued and cared for.

Job Overview: As a Floater Teacher at Tender Learning Centre, you will play a vital role in supporting our toddler and twos classrooms. You will work collaboratively with lead teachers to ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for our younger learners. Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing daily activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide individualized attention to children, supporting their unique needs and interests.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, following health and safety guidelines.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Support children during mealtime, nap time, and other daily routines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a daycare or other setting required
  • Strong understanding of child development principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • EEC Teacher Certification
  • A nurturing and patient demeanor, with a passion for early childhood education.
