What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practical Nursing Clinical/Simulation Instructor position at Tennessee College of Applied Technology?
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Livingston is accepting applications for a full-time position of Practical Nursing Clinical/Simulation Instructor.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must hold a current unencumbered RN License in the State of Tennessee.
· Associate Degree in nursing required. BSN Preferred.
· Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
· Teaching experience preferred.
· Computer and Clinical skills required.
· Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have good organizational and planning skills.
· Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, general public, and business and industry.
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Prepare and maintain and distribute of clinical calendar to the instructors, students, and clinical sites
· Provide clinical instruction in accordance with approved course outlines using a variety of instructional strategies
· Contact clinical sites to organize students’ rotations and perform clinical visits to maintain strong relationships and enter required documents into TCPS
· Develop scenarios and simulations; run simulations; manage clinical/simulation for the practical nursing program
· Stay up-to-date on equipment and simulation software and update as necessary
· Manage/monitor the nursing lab, equipment, computers, and simulation software including cleaning and organizing as needed
· Use instruction methods that emphasize application, cooperation and collaboration and engage students actively in their students
· Organize and explain content using methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experiences
· Perform adequate assessment and student evaluations according to college requirements
· Aid instructors as needed, including, but not limited to test development, NextGen preparation, test proctoring, assist with updating PowerPoints and new textbooks, updating/organizing D2L
