Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Worker
Department: Shipping and Receiving/Warehouse
Reports to: Department Head
Summary:
Processes orders and ships product to customer; unloads all materials and places such in the building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Checks freight for damage; counts freight to match with bill of lading.
Performs shipment processing, including counting, packaging, weighing and labeling of materials.
Loads trucks.
Writes orders and maintains staging area.
Prepares bill of ladings and other miscellaneous forms, including those for waste paper trucks.
Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including forklift, elevator and stretch wrapper.
Prepares shipping documentation (bill of lading, packing slips, etc) on any urgent last minute shipments.
Coordinates pickup and deliveries with outside carriers.
Perform related work as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to read a ruler. Knowledge of metric system is a plus.
