Staff Accountant - Chantilly, VA

Job Title: Staff Accountant

Hybrid: 2 Days on site

Location: Chantilly, VA

Experience Level: 2 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Process and reconcile accounts, ensuring accurate financial data entry in DYNAMICS NAV
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Conduct account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing timely insights into financial performance.
• Review and process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
• Work closely with internal teams to support financial decision-making and improve financial processes.
• Support audits and assist with preparation of necessary documentation.
• Handle ad-hoc accounting projects and tasks as needed by management.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting, balancing on-site and remote work effectively.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or similar professional certification is a plus but not required.
