OVERVIEW:

A Marine/Service Technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul of boats, machinery and trailers.

Knowledge in the automotive industry can also be transferred to the marine industry. We are a rapidly growing, well established family business, if you are looking for a long term opportunity where you can grow your skills, this is it. Basic responsibilities are listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Boat overview and customer communication, work with service managers and customers.
  • Marine diagnostics and repairs, outboards, inboard outboards.
  • Mechanical Abilities to include: - remove engine, transom or outdrive - disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear - overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems - rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks - rewire ignition system, lights and instrument panel - replace and adjust taillights - install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers
  • Experience with tractors, jacks, hoists and forklifts a plus.
  • Complete repair work on schedule.
  • Complete warranty work per manufacturer and Thayer's Marine, Inc. specifications.
  • Operate customer vessels while under repair, safely.
  • Work with other Thayer's Marine, Inc. employees to care for shop and house supplied tools.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Timely and accurate completion of work
  • Maintain 100% productivity.
  • Maintain minimum number of comebacks
