Compensation Ranges: 

  • Bachelors Degree: LSW $45,000 - $56,000 (Based on relevant experience)
  • Master Degree: $48,000 - $58,000 (Based on relevant experience)

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Group Therapist - Adventure Therapy to work in our Day Treatment program at our Bonner Academy located in Columbus, Ohio. The Group Therapist - Adventure Therapy will provide social skills and problem-solving groups in the Adventure Therapy program. Supervises clients and implements interventions developed by the team and under the supervision of clinical staff. Supports logistical needs of the program.

Schedule: Full-time, exempt position (Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM)

Location: 2865 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43204 (100% In person)

What you'll do:

  • Identifies indicators of age-appropriate development in all domains for children of varying ages.
  • Applies knowledge in all aspects of work: screening, care planning, client care, etc.
    Assessment
  • Assesses clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, including frequency,
    duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
  • Identifies history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s),
    functioning, and family interaction styles. Determines the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or
    neglect to children.
  • Identifies cultural factors that influence strengths, functioning, and family interaction styles. Identifies
    strengths and functioning of both client and family for utilization in treatment.
  • Establishes rapport; maintains effective working relationships with diverse individuals in a nurturing and emotionally safe manner while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Uses trauma-informed, focused interventions to engage clients. Educates clients, family members, and
    other providers about healthcare conditions, prevention, available treatments, illness and whole health
    self-management, peer support and recovery.
  • Documents in accordance with standards of practice and established policies and procedures of the Ranch
    and accrediting and regulatory standards. Consistently records client progress in relation to treatment goals. Demonstrates the ability to balance the inclusion of information with client rights to confidentiality at it pertains to the position held

Who you are:

  • Have a Bachelors in a related field & QMHS certification
  • Have a record of 6-12 months supervised field experience
  • Have certificates & Licenses: LSW, LPC, or equivalent license. 
  • Are proficient with computer programs necessary to complete the above tasks including Electronic Health Record and Outlook.
  • Have a valid driver's license and insurance. An essential function of position and employee must keep insurance on their vehicle and driving
    record in accordance with policies.
