Revenue management is crucial for sustaining an organization’s financial stability and growth, optimizing every billing cycle and cash flow process to ensure a steady, reliable income stream. By carefully balancing compliance, billing efficiency, and cash flow health, revenue management empowers a company to reinvest in its mission, reduce financial risk, and strengthen its overall resilience in a competitive market.
The Revenue Manager is responsible for all billing and revenue compliance for Medicaid billing for Self-Directed Services wavier programs through the Maryland Department of Health and other revenue management and billing through the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and other related funding sources. In partnership with the Revenue team, the Revenue Manager will ensure timely processing of all service billing with a focus on minimizing bad debt, improving cash flow, and managing the overall health of The Arc’s service-related receivables. The Revenue Manager will be the organization’s subject matter expert on Medicaid, billing, and collections.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing through Maryland’s MMIS and LTSS systems, complemented by sharp analytical and organizational skills. They will excel at prioritizing tasks in a high-paced environment, working independently with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach. A collaborative team player with a flexible, service-driven mindset, this candidate is committed to lifelong learning and is adept at managing complex issues with clear, positive communication. Their high proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting systems, paired with an eagerness to advance their technical skills, will support their ability to navigate and innovate in revenue management.
A High School diploma or GED and five years of accounting experience in increasing responsibility, specifically in Medicaid billing and revenue reconciliation is required. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field is strongly preferred.
