The Arc of Spokane is seeking an individual to join adynamic team to help support people with intellectual and developmentaldisabilities (IDD) in a unique way! The successful candidate will work with the Manager toachieve agency and Group Supported Employment (GSE) program goals as thesupervisor of a group supported employment site through effective communitycollaboration with clients, host company, and stakeholders (including guardians,family members, advocates, case managers, residential providers and others
JOB DUTIES /EXPECTATIONS:
- Engage in ongoing discovery activities to become familiar with and increase our understanding of the clients’ strengths and capacities as well as to identify specific support needs that may be required for finding or maintaining successful employment.
- Participate in person-centered planning meetings (e.g., DDA annual assessments, required unemployment meetings, CP Treatment team meetings, etc.). with the client and advocates (e.g., DDA CRM, guardian, family members, friends, care providers) to collect information, identify goals and develop service strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of the clients’ individualized service plans, documenting goals and appropriate strategies of support.
- Implement and monitor the support strategies described in the clients’ plans. Assess client progress with goals and the effectiveness of implemented support strategies. As needed, develop alternate strategies to help clients achieve goals.
- Provide direct service support to ensure that clients can successfully complete their work responsibilities. This includes initial job training, coaching/training on specific tasks, skill development, and monitoring client performance.
- Understand, monitor, and support host company production processes, quality standards, and production goals. Serve as the primary liaison with host company personnel to ensure successful collaboration and the achievement of host company objectives.
- Proactively seek opportunities with the host company to expand the volume and variety of responsibilities that clients are performing.
- Provide assistance to clients in acquiring necessary employment certifications.
- Serve as ongoing liaison and consultant to both clients and host company.
- Produce timely, accurate and thorough documentation (e.g. staff logs, client progress reports, CP documentation, etc.).
- Engage in regular and effective communication and collaboration (both written and verbal) with clients and other stakeholders, and effectively translate information about the mission, policies, and services of the agency to other staff, clients, employers, and stakeholders.
- Acquire and demonstrate familiarity with assistive technology, find creative and proactive ways to assist clients through its use, and ensure the dissemination of this information to program clients and other stakeholders.
- Advocate actively for client services and rights through good public relations as well as host-company and community education.
- Utilize effective organization, communication, and time management skills.
- Administer and monitor effective record keeping and documentation systems to ensure the timely production and maintenance of all required agency, client, host company, and stakeholder documentation and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology or related field, or three years’ experience successfully supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Possess strong organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to take initiative.
- Experience in supported employment preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age
- High-school diploma or GED
- Must be able to successfully pass a Background Check
- Must be committed to self-advocacy and personal choice for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Maintain current certification as needed for client safety. (This may include CPR, First Aid, Food and Beverage Workers Permit, and other training as needed).
- Must possess organizational, managerial, administrative, communication, and computer skills.
- Must provide reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Must demonstrate sensitivity and commitment to people with disabilities.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs.
- Must be able to perform physical aspects of the job, which may include toileting, feeding, lifting, and the physical aspects of jobs where demonstration and modeling are required.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands tofinger and reach with hands and arms; see, hear, speak and touch. This positionrequires the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Compensation: $22.50-$24.75. DOE starting range, entirescale to $29.25 per hour, Non-exempt, Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Fridaytypically 7:00am-3:00pm, times may vary due to host company needs.
- All pay is based on longevity at The Arc of Spokane; thus, thestarting pay for this position is $22.50 per hour.
