What You’ll Do
Manage medical records, support nursing staff, and assist residents with appointments and logistics.
Location: Arcadia Retirement Residence (Health Care Center)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Responsibilities
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and/or Quality Assurance Programs.
- Interacts with residents/clients with patience, understanding and kindness in accord with ACS’s mission and core values.
- Ensures and maintains residents’ rights and privacy.
- Maintains medical record charts on residents in unit.
- Obtains necessary authorizations regarding the release of patient information.
- Requisitions supplies designated by nursing staff.
- Answers telephone and intercom calls and provides information or relays information to patients and medical staff.
- Directs visitors to residents’ rooms.
- Distributes mail, newspapers, and flowers to residents.
- Assists with arranging appointments and obtaining transportation for residents.
- Assists with carrying out physician’s orders under the direction of the nursing staff.
- Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Manual.
- Ensures departmental compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines. Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.

Education/Experience
Computer Skills
Proficiency in using a computer, which may include using such software as Vision or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
