Position Overview:
As the Preschool Assistant Director, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of our preschool. Working closely with the Preschool Director, you will help ensure the smooth functioning of our program, maintain high standards of education and care, and foster a positive, engaging environment for children, staff, and families. This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional who is passionate about both teaching and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Assist the Director with the daily operations of the preschool, including staffing, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
- Staff Supervision & Training: Support teachers and staff by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Help ensure all classrooms maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and care.
- Curriculum Oversight: Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all children and aligns with educational goals.
- Enrollment & Family Engagement: Assist in the enrollment process by giving tours, providing information to prospective families, and building positive relationships with current families through regular communication and events.
- Compliance & Licensing: Support Program Director to ensure that the preschool is in compliance with all state and local licensing requirements and that health and safety regulations are strictly followed.
- Child Development Support: Support teachers to observe and assess children’s developmental progress, offering guidance to them on individualized instruction and working with parents on any concerns.
- Conflict Resolution: Serve as a point of contact for parent and staff concerns, using effective problem-solving skills to address issues promptly and professionally.
- Community Engagement: Help promote the preschool within the community, participating in outreach efforts and building partnerships that support our mission and growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for Early Childhood Education: A strong dedication to creating a nurturing and enriching environment for children to learn and grow.
- Educational Background: A degree in Early Childhood Education, Associate, CDA, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Experience: 3 years of experience in an early childhood setting, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage, inspire, and guide a team of early childhood professionals.
- Organizational Excellence: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and keep accurate records.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to address and resolve issues calmly and professionally, fostering a positive environment for all.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
