Beacon is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in living their best life in a safe and supportive environment. You will provide all aspects of care to program participants.
Job Duties:
Each DSP must be able to perform the following functions in order to ensure the life safety, care and well-being, and enhance living skills of individuals with developmental disabilities through active treatment and goal implementation and documentation.
· Active Treatment of consumer goals and documentation.
· Participate in daily operation of residence, including meal prep, assisting with bathing, feeding, dressing, recreational activities, and active treatment.
· Assist consumers with Activities of Daily Living(ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) .
· Attend staff meetings
· Assist consumers in community
· Operate agency vehicles
Job skills and requirements:
· Some knowledge of computers and use of smart phone is needed.
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Valid New York State Driver’s License
· Ability to meet physical demands of job
· Pass necessary background checks as required by OPWDD.
Some experience working with or caring for vulnerable population.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Overnight shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
