Job Summary:

The Assistant Equipment Technician at Bull's Bridge Golf Club plays a key dual role in maintaining the course's pristine conditions that continually keep us ranked one of the best in state! The desired individual would be able to assist with all aspects of equipment maintenance and repair, as well as help with daily golf course maintenance. During the golf season, a typical 45 hour per week schedule will be comprised of approximately 25 hours on the golf course (typically mornings) and 20 hours in the shop.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Mechanic in all the daily operations of equipment maintenance and repair.
• Aid on golf course with rolling, mowing, set up and other tasks as required usually until mid-morning
• Perform routine preventative maintenance of all equipment as directed by Head Mechanic
• Keep accurate notes of all services/maintenance performed to be given to the Head Mechanic for data entry
• Daily tagging and adjustment of reel mowers, ensuring a machine is not used on the golf course unless it has been checked after each use·
• Monitors above ground fuel tanks and pumps, replenishes mix oil tank
• Monitors fuel/ oil levels and grease all daily use machinery
• Monitors equipment engine hours to ensure servicing intervals are maintained
• Monitor parts inventory to ensure common/frequently used items are always on the shelf
• Cart/vehicle upkeep, including other departments: batteries, e-brakes, lights, etc.
• Sharpen rotary blades, and keep a set backup blades for each machine at all times
• Check all small trailers for damage and repairs as needed
• Keep a clean, safe, organized shop at all times
• Learn theory and operation of reel/bedknife grinding, assist the Equipment Manager accordingly
• Remain engaged/aware of course maintenance activities that will impact equipment maintenance schedules

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and a desire for continuing education
• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Basic mechanical skills
• A desire to learn the trade and work well as a team member
• Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to arrive at work at unusually early hours
• Must be able to occasionally work outside for 10-12 hours days
• Be available for extended hours during tournaments, aerification operations, storm cleanup, etc

Compensation:

$22 - $25, non-exempt
