Overview:
The Cellar & Co. is seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team as we prepare to open our exciting new bistro and bar this spring. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our culinary team to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. From food preparation to maintaining kitchen cleanliness, your contributions will help deliver high-quality meals and exceptional service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients for dishes, including chopping, peeling, slicing, and measuring.
- Meal Support: Help in the assembly and plating of dishes, ensuring each order is prepared to the highest standard.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by regularly washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring food safety practices are followed.
- Event & Service Assistance: Assist with the setup and execution of catered events and large meal services, ensuring timely and accurate food delivery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely meal preparation.
- Inventory & Stocking: Assist in receiving deliveries, checking inventory levels, and restocking kitchen supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: Prior experience in food preparation, kitchen assistant, or a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety practices and procedures, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, taking direction from chefs and senior kitchen staff.
- Basic Kitchen Skills: Familiarity with basic kitchen tools and equipment such as knives, cutting boards, and cooking utensils.
- Willingness to Learn: Passion for the food industry with a strong interest in developing new skills and techniques in a dynamic kitchen environment.
