Position Summary:
The Interim Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Coordinator at The Children’s School (TCS) is responsible for student learning, classroom instruction and management, and for promoting a classroom culture committed to student engagement, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the School. The Athletic Coordinator facilitates the athletic sports program. This position is in charge of organizing games and resources, as well as managing the athletic department's coaches, game administrators and volunteers, and communications to families, students, and faculty. The Athletic Coordinator supports and solves any problems that arise with students, families or teachers and ensures the health and safety of the students, in conjunction with the Director of Upper School.
Required on-campus office hours are Monday through Friday, and Athletic Coordination will typically extend beyond office hours.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of two (2) years of physical education teaching experience. Athletic Coordination experience a plus. Degree in Sports Administration/Management a plus. CPR, First Aid, and Concussion trained. Able to develop, organize and implement programs. Organization, communication and attention to detail is a must. Communicates effectively and works effectively with administrative colleagues, Staff, students, and families (listening, speaking and writing skills). Effective at creating a positive, energetic and team atmosphere. Uses good judgment to foster a safe environment for students.
