Key Responsibilities
- Hydraulic Repairs: Perform on-site hydraulic system diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Diesel Engine Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel engines to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Small Tool Repairs: Service and maintain small tools used across job sites.
- On-Site Repairs: Travel to job sites to diagnose and repair machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction equipment.
- Welding: Perform TIG and stick welding as needed for equipment and machinery repairs.
- Task Management: Assign tasks to the Parts Runner to facilitate timely repairs and maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and service history for all equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair tasks adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, providing effective resolutions to minimize project delays.
- Proven experience as a field mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and small tool repairs.
- Proficiency in TIG and stick welding techniques.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess tools required for the role (major tools provided by the company).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
