We are currently recruiting a Seasonal Landscape Support Staff member to work with our Grounds Team for the 2025 spring and summer seasons.
The Seasonal Landscape Support Staff member will be a part of the Landscape Operations department at The Dawes Arboretum. Under the direction of the Grounds Manager, the Seasonal working with our Grounds team will perform basic and routine grounds maintenance tasks throughout The Arboretum’s Central Grounds and Collection areas.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt, seasonal position with an hourly rate of $16.00.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform basic and routine grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, string trimming, mulching, weeding, raking, watering, etc.
- Assist Grounds Technicians and / or Arborist with tree and shrub removals as needed.
- Remove leaves, litter, and debris from Arboretum grounds.
- Operate and maintain a variety of standard grounds equipment and tools, such as mowers, edgers, transport vehicles, golf carts, rakes, shovels, pruners, etc.
- Perform invasive plant removal.
- Assist in event preparation, including set-up and tear-down.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
