Job Title: Café Associate / Barista
- Job Locations: The Eat Shop at Uptown Marion
- Reporting To: General Manager
- Average Weekly Hours: 16-40 hours per week
- Schedule: Saturday through Wednesday
- Available Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm
Purpose of Position
The Café Associate / Barista is responsible for processing food and coffee orders in an efficient and professional manner. This position will prepare coffee, hot sandwiches, salads and catering orders. The Café Associate / Barista will maintain The Eat Shop quality standards by delivering premium food and service to our customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare a wide variety of standard and custom menu items according to The Eat Shop recipes
- Ensure all food and coffee is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
- Safely operate and maintain equipment
- Monitor, organize and restock items as needed
- Clean and sanitize tables, counters and chairs as needed
- Wash dishes and restock food items as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Work Experience and Requirements
- One year of experience in a cafe/barista environment
- Previous food handling experience not necessary
- Must be on time and dependable
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending and reaching overhead is required on a daily basis
- Able to stand for extended period of time
- Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
Language Skills
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must be able to communicate to coworkers and customers in a clear, concise and professional manner
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
