Job Description:
Title: Sr. Maintenance Planner Supervisor
Location: Hanover, PA
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-3pm
Compensation Range: $80,000-$100,000 base with a 10% annual bonus
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist Maintenance Manager in development and administration of preventative maintenance program and work order system using a CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
- Requisition parts and materials as needed for planned work orders and develops listings of critical spare parts.
- Ensure spare parts inventory is adequate to support production activity and at the lowest possible level. Reduces spare parts inventory through standardization.
- Ensure work orders are documented and correctly prioritized.
- Develop and distribute daily maintenance schedules for technicians and maintenance crews, ensuring that work is aligned with production or facility needs.
- Review incoming work requests and assess the urgency and priority of each task. Critical and time-sensitive tasks are prioritized.
- Communicate daily to production departments on scheduled work and planned downtime to complete work procedures.
- Ensure the required materials, equipment, and manpower are available for each job.
- Continuously expand innovative ways to increase equipment reliability.
- Identify and implement cost reduction projects in the facility.
- Review work order backlog and rework to determine root cause and provide improvement recommendations.
- Works with all maintenance leads to schedule and plan PM activities.
Supervisor Functions
- Supervision of the day shift maintenance team consisting of mechanics and electricians dedicated to maintenance and repair of all plant equipment. Team of 15-20
- Supervision of PM activities relating to enhancing machine uptime on all shifts.
- Hold daily or weekly briefings with the maintenance team to discuss the day's schedule, any issues, and updates on ongoing tasks.
- Ensure that risk assessments and job hazard analysis (JHA) are conducted before major tasks.
- For specialized work or when internal resources are unavailable, coordinate with external service providers or contractors.
- Modify or update work orders to reflect changes in scope, timelines, or resources needed.
- Communicate with operations, production, or facility management teams to understand ongoing needs, potential issues, and priorities.
- Handle urgent unplanned maintenance requests, including breakdowns, equipment failures, or safety hazards. This may involve rapidly dispatching technicians and adjusting schedules to accommodate the emergency work.
- Act as back up Manager during absences of Maintenance Manager
Position Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
- CMMS experience considered a plus.
- Industrial maintenance repair background in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Proficiency in MS-Word and Excel.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for root cause failure analysis.
- Capability to understand people and have good inter-personal skills when working with skilled people.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or vocational certificate in a technical maintenance field preferred.
- 3-5 years proven machine repair experience in a manufacturing environment required
