What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at The Fogarty Center?
IMMEDIATE POSITIONS are available both full-time and part-time in Warren, RI.
THE DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL will support individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities to be active members in their communities and complete general activities of daily living. Responsibilities include and are not limited to, assistance with personal care, cooking, and medication administration.
If you have an interest in nursing, psychology, education, or social work, this position will provide you with valuable experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current driver’s license
- Adequate auto insurance coverage
- Safe driving record
- Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment
- Experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Caregiving experience is required
- Strong interpersonal skills, dependability, responsible, of strong character
- Abide by all HIPAA requirements to uphold participant confidentiality
- Motivated, eager to learn, and desire to improve
