Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance & Accounting department’s day-to-day function as well as month end close. The new hire will have a growth mindset and be actively involved in every step of the accounting process, allowing a great opportunity to gain experience. The new hire must be willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that is rapidly growing and must be highly organized, flexible, able to retain information quickly, able to balance various responsibilities at the same time and is accustomed to identifying and solving problems. (No recruiters needed.)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs general cost accounting and cost absorption analysis and other related duties for the organization.
• Reconciles accounts and help with the closing of the monthly books.
• Reconciliations related to production accounts and absorptions.
• Provide support to the Accounting Manager for accounting activities that will include accounts payable and accounts receivable- will learn all facets of the day-to-day transactions and be a backup when needed
• Completing analysis of GL Accounts
• Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently.
• Analytical skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
• CPA or desire to become CPA

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
