The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Human Factors Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in St. Paul, MN. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:
- $80-$96/HR
- 12-24 month assignment (strong potential for further extension or conversion to FTE based on performance and budget).
- Responsible for coordinating all activities necessary to complete Human Factors engineering projects. Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting ethnographic user research to identify user needs
- Translating user needs to requirements and product design concepts
- Developing prototypes to explore and validate product design concepts
- Performing workflow, task and use error analyses
- Conducting Formative Usability testing
- Conducting Summative Validation testing
- Participate on development program teams to ensure human factors principles are considered and implemented.
- Create and communicate project deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines
- Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Qualifications:
- M.S. degree or PHD in Human Factors Engineering, Design, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction or a related discipline
- 2 positions available (Senior and Principal)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Human Factors/Usability engineering experience in a product development environment for Senior
- Minimum 10 years of relevant Human Factors/Usability engineering experience in a product development environment for Principal
- Skills required:
- User Interface Design experience - Wireframing, prototyping, and workflow design, with experience in software UI (ideally with some hardware UI but not required)
- Human Factors (HF) methodology, testing, user research, and translating insights into requirements and design concepts.
- Task Analysis, Usability Engineering, User Research, and Design Research Studies.
- Experience in medical device development is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology is a plus.
