What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Coordinator/ Surgical Tech position at The Gables Surgical Center?
Materials Coordinator manages inventory, supplies, and deliveries for the Operating Room and PACU/Pre op departments. They work to ensure that materials are available when needed and that shipments are accurate and timely. Must also have experience as a Surgical Tech.
Responsibilities include:
- Inventory: Manage inventory, including cycle counts and physical inventory processes
- Ordering: Order supplies and negotiates individual surgical case cost with suppliers for administrator approval
- Deliveries: Schedule on time deliveries
- Storage: Coordinate the storage of materials
- Maintain a system for personnel to check for the availability of supplies and the status of orders
- Vendor Relations: Work with vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain
- Safety: Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety and quality policies

Additional skills:
- Surgical Technologist or Surgical Technologist experience required
