Reports To: Supervising Attorney
Position is: Full Time; Standard Hours 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Flexible Schedule; Eligible to work alternative hours per department needs and supervisor approval

Overall Descriptions of the Position:
Bankruptcy Filer Legal Assistants for The Gori Law Firm will be responsible for drafting legal documents, reviewing client files and discovery documents, and preparing bankruptcy claims for submission.
Position Requirements:
- Competent to Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skill set in:
- MS Office Word, Excel, and Adobe
- Typing, saving and calendaring events
- Filing, organizing, and processing data
- Reading and processing information from text and online sources
- Proofing documents for spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Ability to type quickly and accurately
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers
- Exhibits engaged and active listening skills
- Self-motivated and well-organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Customer Service skills preferred
- Punctual and predictable attendance
- Job duties must be regularly performed in the office
- Preferred:
- Knowledge related to Asbestos, the diseases that can result from exposure, and available treatment.
- Knowledge of Asbestos containing products and in what industries they are used.
- 5 years in legal industry or related higher education experience in legal, business, criminal justice, or related field
Position Duties (including, but not limited to):
- Organize work tasks in a sequential and detail-oriented fashion to ensure accuracy of information and proper documentation of case notes
- Read, scan, save and extract key information from various sources
- Maintain case documents in both paper and electronic filing systems
- Draft legal documents and organize documentation for attorneys
- Occasionally interview clients, co-workers, and family members of clients regarding case details
- Be familiar with products, industries, and work sites related to asbestos exposure
- Work both independently and part of a team to ensure all case related information is accurately and effectively communicated and documented for other legal professionals working on the case
Education, Certificates and Licenses:
- High School Diploma or GED; secondary education preferred
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check
