Plant Manager – Heavy Equipment Manufacturing

This company, a global leader in heavy equipment used in forestry, is looking for a Plant Manager for their successful Eugene, OR facility. In this position, you’ll manage the activities of the entire site with full P&L responsibility for a plant producing $100 million in revenue. You’ll be responsible for all operational aspects of the division as it relates to meeting the goals and objectives of the company.

Position Description
In this position, you’ll direct, manage, and optimize the overall operations of the plant, plus develop goals to support broad functional objectives. You’ll lead operations, maintain the budget, and assure the implementation of all policies, procedures, and safety standards. One of your main goals is to identify operational improvements and figure out how to remove barriers for associates, to better meet client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Create a safe and healthy work environment throughout the company.
- Full responsibility for production planning and review of production orders/schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specification of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
- Lead and champion Operational Excellence / Lean activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications and customer satisfaction.
- Review production and operating budgets and assist with the resolution of operational delays due to manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Responsible for achieving the targeted P&L goals for the operation as outlined in the annual budget.
- Motivate and develop skills of managerial personnel to increase throughput, productivity, growth and higher morale, through a team environment.
- Support quality, manufacturing engineering, and lead initiatives across the plant to include Kanban, Kaizen, TPM, TQM, 5-S, 5 Whys, and S&OP process.
- Make recommendations to management on efficiency improvements related to the manufacturing process.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Masters a plus) with 10 years of leadership experience in Iine operations, management, or functional support. Other degrees (finance, supply chain, etc.) could be acceptable with parallel experience.
- Background in the production of low volume, large equipment. It must include work in metal, metal fabrication, and assembly for plants with headcounts of, or near, 100 people.
- A strong background in OpEx/Quality systems. This includes Six Sigma Black Belt (or LSSBB or Toyota Production Systems).
- Proven ability to lead and motivate team members throughout the organization.
Compensation:
$175,000-200,000 base, with 30% target bonus and 10% LTIP.
