POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages accounts payable supervisor and clerks to ensure all their transactions and accounting, analytical, and reporting assignments are completed accurately and timely and in accordance with established guidelines.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Directs the work of and supervises employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management and other related issues.
- Sets performance standards to meet or exceed service goals of the Department.
- Manages the accounting and business transaction activities so that all functions are following Company procedures and policies.
- Review and revise Accounts Payable, Check Disbursement, Miria Processing, PO issuance and P-card Policies. Updates are required annually.
- Includes reviewing and revising approval Hierarchy for all applications.
- Trains and develop accounts payable supervisors and review their work for accuracy.
- Manages/audits accounting and business transactional activities as assigned or required to meet objectives.
- Manages/reconciles sub-ledgers to General Ledger. Manage Month-end accruals.
- Issue spending summaries P-card.
- Ensures that internal control procedures are adhered to.
- Ensures department maintains well organized files containing applicable office records relating to accounting and business transactions.
- Responds to service requests or requirements in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
- Exercises judgment in resolving customer issues. Review completeness of documents received from operations and/or other departments, as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Leads AP Dept on proper Sales and Use Tax applications as well as Capital and Manufacturing exemptions in our various jurisdictions.
- Manage Banking positive pay decisioning.
- Assist with year-end audits.
- Ensure Vendor statement review is performed timely.
- Ensure that all telephone and e-mails queries received from suppliers and internal stakeholders are addressed in a timely manner.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
- Equivalent of either (1) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field and 4 years related accounting experience OR (2) 7 years of directly applicable experience as an Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager who participated in all aspects of Accounting.
- Excellent people skills, including an ability to acquire information and influence others with diplomacy, tact and discretion and engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels with respect and confidence.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the ability to work in a self-directed manner, take initiative, and work independently when required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify issues and develop solutions.
- Outstanding organizational skills including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, meet tight deadlines and to work in an independent, flexible manner where required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders (both internal and external) both in the provision of information, support, and advice.
- Demonstrated customer service/administrative experience.
- Excellent working knowledge across the Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in the use of Windows based applications (particularly spreadsheets and databases
- Related training or certification.
