Trestle Studio proudly launched The Hotel Chalet in October 2023, a new boutique lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Downtown Chattanooga at The Chattanooga Choo Choo, and is building a team of motivated leaders who are enthusiastic about creating a unique space where culture, elevated service standards, and authentic hospitality are paramount.

The property, formerly operated as The Choo Choo Hotel, features 127 guest rooms, including 25 within restored vintage train carriages, an original bar and restaurant concept with parlor, patio, and courtyard service, a 3,200SF ballroom, a fitness center, and an alpine pool. With an emphasis on the rich history of the hotel and surrounding area, and the boundless opportunity for adventure in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, The Hotel Chalet welcomes travelers who seek adventure, timeless style, and intrinsic comfort.

The General Manager is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the Property and the brand, by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues and guest and associates satisfaction. You are expected to oversee all aspects of the Property (Hotel and F&B). In addition to the traditional general manager responsibilities, we will expect a higher level of participation in branding/marketing/PR.

Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

· Coordinate, direct and manage day-to-day Property/Hotel operations

· Embrace leading a solid team to being a better team, training and developing them to excel in their roles and continuously improve; motivate associates to exceed expectations of the guests; passionately uphold and elevate a positive work environment for the internal guests - our associates

· Be actively involved in the local community and builds strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers

· Work through and with management team to drive revenue and guest service

· Hold property leadership team accountable for strategy execution, and guide their individual professional development

· Support and communicate company goals and initiatives, promote company programs, and act as an ambassador of the company

· Ensure the Property operations are functioning within the financial parameters established in the budget

· Participate in the hiring of qualified associates, assemble skilled and cohesive teams, manage individual and team performance, provide developmental opportunities and promote teamwork and cooperation

· Maintain regular attendance and be on time and present

· Maintain the set standards of personal appearance and grooming which include compliance with any set dress code

· Develop programs and initiatives to increase team engagement that are aligned with the Property’s/hotel’s service philosophy

· Develop, implement and monitor team member succession planning to ensure future bench strength

 · Establish performance and development goals for team members and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to enhance performance

 · Oversee HR related actions in accordance with company rules and policies

 · Demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards

 · Drive improvement in guest satisfaction goals

· Collaborate with colleagues and Property/hotel team members to establish and implement services and programs that meet or exceed guest expectations

 · Speak to guests – ask for their feedback and build relationships

· Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual capital, cash flow and sales and marketing plans to accurately forecast budgets

· Analyze financials to drive revenues, future profitability and maximum return on investment

· Use distribution channels and technology platforms to drive revenue and maximize market share

· Working with asset management to maintain or improve Property’s market leadership position

· Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues and Property assets

 · Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of Property and brand in local community.

 · Drive team member involvement in community organizations, activities and businesses

· Assist in carrying out action plans to be environmentally-conscious by taking steps to reduce the Property’s carbon footprint

· Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time
