Description

Basic Function/Overall Responsibilities: The Case Aide Supervisor is responsible for supporting Case Aide staff in the facilitation and coordination of supportive visitation and case service needs. The Case Aide Supervisor is responsible for implementing and managing transportation, visitation, and all other supportive measures for families to receive and attend to necessary services and the documentation of such. Support and manage the pre-visitation and post-visitation meetings with birth parents, focusing on OCFS-informed curriculum (Coaching Family Visits) and/or agency practice model strategies and techniques. Assist in new staff training and role model for staff, productive working relationships between birth and foster families and external stakeholders. Implement the Sanctuary Model of care into visitation while providing guidance to the families in their areas of needs to meet their permanency planning goal. The Case Aide Supervisor is required to work evenings, with the ability to work Saturdays (as needed).

 

Principal Assigned Responsibilities:

 

1. Provide weekly supervision to the Case Aides and lead weekly team meetings with team members.

2. Participate in manager meetings with Visitation and Operations Manager and colleagues for the planning and development of case aide operations and quality.

3. Ensure that all visitation requirements can be met through individual weekly schedules of the Case Aides and respond to emerging situations as they arise.

4. Manage the referral process for cases that need a Case Aide’s services.

5. Maintain the transportation and visitation schedules for Case Aides and ensure all operational order is maintained as well as policy and procedural expectations.

6. Supervise/transport for family visitation when necessary.

7. Ensure Coaching Family Visits (or any other model utilized) training is occurring to fidelity standards and provide direct oversight and supervision to staff engaged in such.

8. Ensure that all Case Aides follow the appropriate and timely documentation standards for visitation.

9. Operate as the point of contact for your assigned staff and the cases and stakeholders involved with such, to include but not limited to, birth parents, foster parents, community partners and County DCFS partners.

10. Role model and utilize effective solution-focused strategies in case planning efforts with all staff and any external stakeholders/

11. Ensure that all visitation rooms have the necessary supplies and furnishings as well as ensuring compliance with infection control policies and protocols.

12. Attend agency in-service trainings, workshops, and seminars as appropriate or required by supervisors.

13. Assist the program in ensuring that the vehicles, visitation rooms and community areas are in working order.

14. Communicate strengths and areas of need of both the foster families and the birth families to the workers assigned to the case.

15. Complete related tasks/duties as assigned by Visitation and Operations Supervisor/Treatment Team Supervisor.

16. Working with Case Planners and Program Managers to ensure the completion/updating of visitation referrals in the EHR.

17. Cover Case Aide visitation schedules in the event of staff calling in unexpectedly.

18. Assist Visitation and Operations Supervisor with onboarding and training new Case Aides, by providing shadowing opportunities/hands on guidance.

19. Understands the level of sensitivity needed to lead foster care visitation and supportive functions and demonstrates such with all children and families served.

20. Demonstrate and align responsibilities and behaviors using a trauma informed approach.

21. Ability to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications


Education and Experience Requirements:

1.  High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years’ successful human service experience, preferably working with a high-risk population or in a community-based services field.  Supervisory experience preferred.

5.    Follows mandated reporting requirements regarding child abuse and neglect.
6.   Practices infection control, including appropriate hand washing procedures.
7.    Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral treatment, social skills and age-appropriate developmental milestones of youth.
8.   Demonstrate the ability to form effective relationships with youth and families
9.    Strong written, verbal and organizational skills.
10.  Ability to form collaborative working relationships with program staff, other agency staff, and staff from outside agencies.
11.  Demonstrated knowledge of documentation requirements of licensing and accrediting
bodies.
12.  Comfortability with using the computer, and willingness to learn excel, outlook calendars, and Electronic Health Record.
13.  Valid New York State driver's license.
