Summary
As the Associate Learning Events Project Manager, you will oversee the execution of event-related projects and deliverables with a strong focus on tactical event marketing and project management. In this role, you will coordinate cross-functional efforts to support the planning, branding, content, sales enablement, and logistics for IIA and non-IIA events. Working closely with the Sr. Learning Experience Marketing Manager and various internal stakeholders, you will ensure events are strategically aligned with organizational objectives and serve as effective sales and engagement channels.
1. Project Management
- Support planning and managing timelines, production schedules, budgets, and deliverables for assigned events.
- Schedule all tactical projects in the project management system.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align event goals with organizational objectives and ensure smooth execution.
- Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure adherence to project milestones.
- Coordinate toolkits and translation efforts to deliver templates and materials for local market adaptations.
2. Event Marketing Execution
- Support the management and development of event-specific marketing campaigns, including content creation, messaging, and promotional strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and registration.
- Ensure marketing materials (digital, print, and on-site) align with event objectives and target audience needs.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Sr. Learning Experience Marketing Manager in partnership with Creative, Media, Web, Sales, and Business Unit teams to produce cohesive campaigns and deliverables that enhance the buyer journey.
- Ensure key inputs from Business Unit teams come in to meet the media schedule deadlines.
- Partner with Sales to ensure on-site sales opportunities are maximized and lead management is seamless.
4. Competitive Research & Event Trends
- Conduct competitive research and evaluate event industry trends to enhance event strategies.
- Provide insights on audience preferences, event formats, and engagement tactics to inform planning.
5. On-Site Support
- Support event-day logistics, including signage, collateral distribution, and booth setup, ensuring all elements are executed flawlessly.
- Act as a primary point of contact during events to troubleshoot and manage any on-site issues.
6. Post-Event Reporting
- Collaborate with Sales and other teams to analyze and report on lead performance, appointments, and purchases to measure event success.
- Compile post-event reports with actionable insights and recommendations for future improvements.
7. Centralized Support
- Provide project and event marketing support to internal teams, including Learning, Membership, Sales, and Institute Relations.

Education and Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline.
- Must have 5 years of marketing, project management, traffic, or account management experience with at least 3 years of experience in digital marketing.
- Proven project management experience, with a track record of delivering complex marketing campaigns.
- Understanding of creative process and timelines, event management, and demand generation.
- Understanding of waterfall and scrum project management concepts.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams including product marketing, marketing communications, design, web development, sales, field marketing, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and apply direction from multiple stakeholders.
Technical Skills
Expert understanding of MS Office and project management techniques. Experience with event management software like CVENT, CRM, sales, marketing data, BI tools like PowerBI, and Waterfall and Scrum is a plus.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Strong ability to work in a computerized environment with knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Web-related computer skills listed above.
