Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Governance Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our governance processes and systems. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of governance activities, supporting board and committee functions, and fostering effective communication across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a solid understanding of governance frameworks, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are representative of the essential functions of the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries from committee and board volunteers, alongside internal staff.
- Monitor and manage communications within the Governance inbox, ensuring timely responses.
- Coordinate Zoom meetings for board and nominating committee sessions, fostering an organized virtual environment.
- Update and maintain the organization's website, particularly focusing on nominations, board/committee leadership pages, and meeting schedules.
- Assist in the creation of board and nominating committee meeting materials to ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
- Oversee the nomination process using SmartSheet, ensuring completion of reports, processing DocuSign acceptance forms, and tracking nominee updates. Communicate changes and issues effectively to staff liaisons and committee chairs.
- Contribute to the development of reports, surveys, volunteer evaluations, and official correspondence.
- Manage the coding and maintenance of committee members, staff liaisons, and support staff within the CRM.
- Serve as a reliable backup for the Governance Senior Manager.
- Maintain and update department procedures and the board policy manual as required.
- Assist the Governance Senior Manager and Director with various special projects as needed.
- Provide support to the Office of the CEO & President’s office on administrative tasks as requested.
- Work closely with the Governance Senior Manager and other senior leaders to align governance operations with organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Monitor governance operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to four years of relevant experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and effectively respond to inquiries from members, volunteers, and staff.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts, with a strong grasp of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and address issues in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in a computerized environment, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft
